Andrew Tate is an Attorney based in the Atlanta office of the firm. In his practice, Andrew aggressively litigates class action and mass cases across the United States, covering a broad spectrum of subject matters.
Prior to joining Peiffer Wolf, Andrew most recently litigated employment cases, including discrimination based on race, sex/LGBTQIA+, disability, age, religion, and national origin; unlawful denial of retirement benefits; contract disputes; workplace torts; and retaliation, including violations of whistleblower protection laws such as the Dodd-Frank Consumer Financial Protection Act. Andrew has also litigated cases involving excessive use of force, unreasonable search and seizure, cruel and unusual punishment, coerced sterilization, due process violations, and medical malpractice in correctional settings, which included numerous wrongful death cases. In 2018, Andrew litigated cases that successfully fought the Trump Administration’s family separation practices at the U.S.-Mexico border, reuniting numerous families as a result.
In his first jury trial, a medical malpractice case, Andrew was first chair and achieved a verdict of $1.3 million for a client who fractured his hand while in prison. This is one of the highest verdicts ever awarded to a living plaintiff who was injured in a correctional setting in the United States. Prior to this verdict, the first chair opposing counsel had tried over 130 cases and never lost a case in federal court. Andrew was then honored for achieving one of the Top 100 Medical Malpractice verdicts in the United States in 2019.
A native Atlantan, Andrew holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Juris Doctor from Emory University. At Emory Law, he competed on the school’s ABA Negotiation Team, served on the Student Bar Association and the Turner Environmental Law Clinic, and interned for the late Chief Justice P. Harris Hines of the Supreme Court of Georgia.
Andrew is driven by a creed espoused by Frederick Douglass, the Black American abolitionist and human rights activist: “Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will.” Accordingly, Andrew is active in numerous civic activities across the country and advocates for bipartisan legislation to get money out of politics, ban assault rifles, stop climate change, require transparency, accountability, and oversight on Wall Street, and enhance protections for children, consumers, employees, journalists, and whistleblowers.

How we work
We have represented thousands of victims of investment fraud, against financial institutions that failed to discharge their duties and protect the investing public. Each case is different and our past successes are not indicative of future results; we will be glad to review your case and advise you as to your options, at no charge.
We generally represent investors on a “contingency fee” basis, meaning we do not charge any legal fees unless and until we recover money for you. Our general practice is to advance the case costs on the client’s behalf and recoup them out of (and up to) the amounts recovered. A few jurisdictions (states) require the client to be responsible for the case costs; whenever that is the case we explain to the client what those costs entail.
